COMPUTER ASSISTED LITERACY SOFTWARE (CALS)

 

LWB is working with Restore Belize, Handy Tools Ltd. and Belize Ministry of Education, Youth & Sports (MOEYS) to fund sustainability studies for existing CALS programs and implementation of Scholastic LiteracyPro Assessment Software.

Objectives of the CALS program:

  • To increase access to literacy and numeracy programs to in-school population, out-of-school youths, and adults.

  • To increase the capacity of established remedial literacy and numeracy programs through continual training and guidance in: usage and management of CALS software; literacy instruction and strategies.

  • To boost academic achievement for in-school clients

  • To equip out-of-school youths and adults with improved competence
